Round 3 at Donington Park of the British Super Bikes (BSB) Championship 2023

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship recently returned to Donington Park for an electrifying round of races. This event marked the first of two visits to Donington Park during the 2023 season, and it certainly lived up to the hype.

The weekend was dominated by the impressive performance of Kyle Ryde from the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha Team. Ryde celebrated his second victory of the 2023 championship in the BikeSocial Sprint Race. He showcased a masterful performance, leading from start to finish and keeping title rivals Tommy Bridewell from BeerMonster Ducati and Leon Haslam from ROKiT BMW Motorrad at bay.

World-class riders such as Josh Brookes, Glenn Irwin, and Tommy Bridewell were among those looking to build on strong starts to their campaigns. Glenn Irwin, in particular, had a successful weekend, finishing in second place in the British Superbikes standings after securing third place in the final race at Donington Park.

The event also saw Jason O’Halloran from McAMS Yamaha smashing the fastest ever Bennetts British Superbike Championship lap time of the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit in the opening free practice of the weekend. He set a new benchmark of 1m:27.997s, which was 0.278s faster than the existing time set in 2016 on the recently resurfaced track.

The thrilling races and standout performances made this round of the British Superbikes Championship a memorable one, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
